Highland & co. Acres
A small, intentional Highland cattle program focused on temperament, conformation, and quality genetics — supported by transparent testing and daily hands-on care.
We value depth over trend — a thoughtful blend of older U.S. foundation lines, import genetics, and modern pedigrees. Diversity that contributes consistency, heritage traits, maternal strength, and correct Highland expression across every generation.
Mattis is a son of Howling Springs King Maker and a half-sibling to Howling Springs Baron the Bull, a two-time National Champion. His pedigree includes GH Due Diligence, Star Lake Victoria, Sunset Limited Edition, and CBS Yaz's Yukon Jack — deep, well-established Highland lines found across many reliable U.S. herds. Together, these genetics contribute traditional Highland type, structural strength, and proven maternal consistency.
Rae's maternal lineage runs through Mar-Mor Callie (AHCA Impact Dam), Mar-Mor Oberon, Five Star Farms, CH Winchester, and Valhalla — a strong foundation of maternal merit and traditional Highland type. Sire parentage is currently being confirmed through UC Davis. Rae weaned at 569 lbs at 8 months on forage and his dam's milk alone, demonstrating exceptional growth performance.
Our foundation females represent carefully selected genetics from established U.S. bloodlines, bringing maternal strength, structural correctness, and temperament to every calf we raise.
Janeway's pedigree blends her Spring Creek sire line with foundational U.S. herds including Trafalgar, LEA, and Thorbardin — contributing traditional Highland type, reliable structural balance, and steady maternal qualities.

We do not list calves for sale until each animal has been individually evaluated for conformation, temperament, and program fit. As a small, intentional program, some calves will be retained as program replacements, and others will be carefully placed.
Availability and pricing will be announced beginning summer 2026 through our interest list, with most calves available for reservation at weaning — typically 6–8 months of age, between fall 2026 and spring 2027.
To be added to our interest list, please complete our intake form so we can understand your goals, setup, and experience.
Complete Intake FormOur 2027 calf crop will reflect continued investment in our foundation. Jade is planned for AI breeding to Finley Falls Duncan (2× NWSS Grand Champion, 2017–2018) following her current calf's weaning. Maple will be paired carefully for her next breeding. Additional pairings will be announced as our program develops.
We'll be in touch within 1–2 business days.

We are committed to honesty, transparency, and intentional breeding. While we cannot guarantee outcomes once an animal leaves our care, we promise support and integrity throughout the entire process.
Our cattle are handled daily and raised around people, dogs, and the activity of a working farm with guest presence. This creates respectful, calm, human-familiar animals from birth forward.
We stay in touch with our buyers. If you have questions about the cattle you've purchased — feeding transitions, health questions, breeding timing, what to watch for in a new calf — we're here. Always.
"Thank you for considering a Highland from our farm.
We love this breed. We honor it's history.
And we breed with intention for it's future."
